Leading researcher of the Laboratory of Soil-Physical Processes

Project objectives

Study of the microbiological situation in contaminated soils of various areas of Siberia, recognition of regularities of qualitative and quantitative changes in soil microbiota, its functional activity, assessment of possible biological self-purification of soil catenas.

Expected results

Study of mechanisms of biological self-purification of contaminated soil catenas at all stages of the soil-microbiological, sanitary and microbiological and phyto-sanitary assessment. Up-to-date methods and approaches allow of accurate identification of saprophytes, parasites and pathogenic microflora in snow and soil layers; the computerised and microscopic techniques allow the results of direct microbiological observations to be visualised and documented.
