The museum exhibition represents mineralogical samples from more than 50 countries and all the regions of Russia. The museum collection contains 1000 mineralogical samples (the total number of exhibits is about 20 thousand). The exhibition has 56 meteorite samples of total mass about 150 kg. Over 300 species are enrolled into the International Red Book of Endangered Species, the Russian Red Book, and the Red Book of the Novosibirsk Oblast. International genealogical books are kept for 56 species. The staff of the Zoo takes part in 53 international programs on the preservation of rare and endangered animal species. The Zoo has one of the world-beating collections of felids and mustelids. The Zoo is a member of three international associations: the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), European\u2013Asian Regional Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EARAZA), and the World Association of Zoos and Aquaria (WAZA). The Zoo is also a member of the ISIS information system.<br \/>\nThe mascot of the Novosibirsk Zoo is the snow leopard, a beautiful and graceful animal. Its range in Siberia is confined to Altai.<br \/>\nThe staff of the Zoo is an enthusiastic team, which conducts enormous scientific work on the preservation of endangered animal species on the Earth. They have published over 50 research papers on keeping and reproducing rare and endangered animals and on their postnatal development.<br \/>\nThe Zoo was first to obtain progeny from some rare species: river otter, Siberia grouse, Kamchatka mountain sheep, Putorana snow sheep, etc.<br \/>\nThe Novosibirsk Zoo contacts with over 150 zoos of 44 countries. The departure will be on <strong>August 10\u00a0<\/strong>at 1:30 p.m. from the hotel \u201cGolden valley\u201d.<br \/>\nWe will go by Chuysky trakt (road) to the South of Western Siberia and at dinnertime will reach the upper river Ob. Here, near to the confluence of two rivers \u2013 Biya and Katun, where the river Ob originates from, stands the city of Biysk. Then our way will lie along the Katun river, to the highest mountain region of Siberia \u2013 Altai mountains.<br \/>\nKatun is the largest river of the Altai mountains, the water temperature rarely rises above 15\u00b0C. The water in the river has an unusual turquoise color.<br \/>\nLater in the evening on <strong>August 10<\/strong>, we will arrive at the village Kamlak, which stands in a spectacular place on the bank of the Katun river about 500 km from Novosibirsk. The next day, on <strong>August 11<\/strong>, we will be acquainted with the traditions of Russian-speaking and the indigenous population of the Mountainous Altai: national cuisine, rituals, and crafts.<br \/>\nOn the third day, <strong>August<\/strong> <strong>12<\/strong>, we will be on our way up along the Katun river. We have to overcome more than 200 km and then we will return to the village of Kamlak to our hotel. Along the way we will continue our acquaintance with the national cuisine and crafts; we will overcome two mountain passes, the height of one is more than 1700 meters. We will see views of the beautiful mountains and valleys; we will see the unforgettable beauty of the landscapes in places of the confluence of the Katun river and its tributaries.<br \/>\nLater in the evening on <strong>August 12<\/strong>, we will return to the village of Kamlak, and in the morning of <strong>Auguste 13<\/strong>, we will go back to Novosibirsk.
