We propose to discuss the following topics:
- Maintenance of genetic collections (plants and tissue cultures; seed storage), their reproduction, nomenclature, and principles of their forming;
- Databases (data storage, processing, and exchange);
- Isogenic and substitution lines: their use in gene molecular mapping, studies of marker phenotypic manifestations, and utility for genetic analysis of multiple markers;
- Alloplasmic lines: plasmon-genome interactions, CMS, and their use in phylogenetic and systematic studies.
To form the final program of the Conference
Organizing Committee is requesting to kindly e-mail or mail a brief summary (up to 10 lines) comprising the titles of oral presentations and posters, names of the authors, and their affiliations.
Deadline is June 01, 2000
Collection display: A tour to the experimental fields of the Institute of Cytology and Genetics is planned with the Conference to display the available genetic collections. Participants willing to demonstrate their own genotypes (lines or cultivars) of spring varieties are welcome to send their seeds before March 01, 2001 to the Organizing Committee members with this Institute (60-100 seeds, each sample).
Registration fee amounting to US$100 is paid on registration
Publications: Extended abstracts of oral presentations (up to 5 pages) and posters (up to 3 pages) will be published in English.
Instructions for authors
Authors should send one hard copy of the extended abstract on a standard A4 paper (for editing) and its electronic version (e-mailed or on a floppy disk) for printing. The sheet should have a 2.5-cm left margin and all the rest margins of 3 cm. The extended abstract body should be one spaced, without indentions, and put in 12-point Times New Roman. Use World v. 6-7 or RTF formats; although undesirable, it is possible to use ASCII format.
Title runs in CAPITALS using 14-point Times New Roman and is separated with a blank line from the author’s line.
Authors: Name of each author has initials and is accompanied by author’s affiliation and address (city, zip code, country, and e-mail). This line is separated with a blank line from the key words’ line.
Key words may contain up to 10 words.
Extended abstract of a presentation shall include Introduction, Materials and Methods, Discussion, and References. Tables are inserted into the body and designated as Table 1, Table 2, etc. Figures shall be black and white without half-tints in JPEG, GIF, BMP or PNG formats as a separate file and indicated in the relevant place of the extended abstract body as Fig. 1, Fig. 2, etc.
Deadline: February 15, 2001
