AKADEMGORODOK EXCURSION AND VISIT TO A LOCAL MUSEUM

Bus sightseeing excursion in the Akademgorodok scientific center, visiting the Geological Museum.
THE GEOLOGICAL MUSEUM was founded in 1958. The museum exhibition represents mineralogical samples from more than 50 countries and all regions of Russia. The museum collection exhibits 1000 mineralogical samples (the total number of accessions is about 20 thousand). The exhibition has 56 meteorite samples weighing in total about 150 kg. The permanent exhibition also presents more than 60 artificially synthesized minerals.
The museum represents about 10 thousand samples of minerals and fossils from Siberia and Far East in the exhibition hall and over 25 thousand samples in the museum collection.
