Seedling greening during de-etiolation is caused by light-dependent chlorophyll biosynthesis and development of photosyntheticly active chloroplasts. Light and cytokinin are positive regulators of chlorophyll biosynthesis. In this study we have shown that phytochromes A and B mediate the positive effect of cytokinin on the expression of some chlorophyll biosynthesis genes during de-etiolation under both white and red light.
