SCOPE

PlantGen 2023 will be focused on research using genetic approaches in solving issues of plant breeding, plant physiology and molecular biology.

PlantGen 2023 is a convenient platform for bringing together specialists with a wide range of interests, whose research is aimed at
– creating new genotypes,
– understanding the mechanisms of plant functioning,
– implementing biotechnological approaches.

The conference will also address issues of
– plant genetic resources,
– genetics of resistance to environmental stress factors,
– fundamental and applied aspects of studying the organization and evolution of the plant genome,
– related bioinformatics approaches,
– modern platforms aimed at improving crops.

The Scientific Program will include plenary and section reports, as well as a poster session. According to the results of the preliminary competitive selection, the participants of the poster session will have the opportunity to announce their research through a short 2-minute talk at the general sessions (flash-presentation).

Within the framework of the Conference, it is planned to hold a School of Young Scientists. For them, well-known scientists in the field of genetics, plant physiology, biotechnology and breeding will make scientific reports and popular science reports. It is also planned to hold a separate section, where young scientists will demonstrate their results in the form of oral presentations.

  HOST CITY

Kazan is the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, is one of the oldest Russian cities located at the two rivers crossing – the Volga and the Kazanka. It is the largest by population city in the Volga Federal District and one of the largest economic, scientific, educational, religious, cultural and sport center in Russia.

The city is a home of the Federal Research Center “Kazan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences” and the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan. There are more than 40 universities in the city, including the Kazan Federal University, which celebrated its 200th anniversary.

Kazan is an amazing city where European and Asian cultures are intertwined, where various confessions peacefully coexist, where classical forms of culture exist together with modernity and avant-garde. This is a city with a thousand-year history, where ultra-modern buildings and structures coexist next to the architectural masterpieces of past centuries. Here modernity meets ancient history. The city has a large number of historical and cultural monuments. The Kazan Kremlin is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Such outstanding personalities as mathematician N.I. Lobachevsky, writer L.N. Tolstoy, singer F.I. Chaliapin, poets G.R. Derzhavin and Musa Jalil, impressionist painter N.I. Feshin and many others  lived and worked in Kazan.

The city is constantly being updated, modified and improved. The recently opened largest IT park in Russia will make the Republic of Tatarstan a sustainable innovation and technology leader in Russia. A city that has an officially registered brand “Third Capital of Russia”. Kazan is a hospitable city that regularly hosts various events of all-Russian and world-class (scientific, sports, cultural).

Wellcome to Kazan!       Рәхим итегез!
