Dear colleagues,

From September 28 to October 2, 2026, the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution “Federal Research Center Institute of Cytology and Genetics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences” (ICG SB RAS, Novosibirsk, Russia) will hold the Young Scientists Multi-School, combining the traditional 16th Young Scientists School “Systems Biology and Bioinformatics” — SBB-2026 — and the 6th Young Scientists School “Plant Genetics, Genomics, Bioinformatics and Biotechnology” — PlantGen School 2026.

The School program will include:

  • one-hour lectures by leading experts;
  • presentations by young scientists with a competition for the best works, where the best oral and poster presentations will be selected;
  • practical classes;
  • in-person and electronic poster sessions.

IMPORTANT! The Multi-School will be held only in an in-person format.

Main topics of the SBB-2026 School:

  • Genome structure and function;
  • Computational transcriptomics;
  • Bioinformatics, genetic variability, and biomedicine;
  • Computational proteomics;
  • Systems computational biology;
  • Computational evolutionary biology;
  • Computational developmental biology;
  • Big genetic data;
  • Computational epidemiology.

Main topics of PlantGen School 2026:

  • Fundamentals of bioinformatics;
  • Bioinformatics for agriculture;
  • Fundamentals of statistical genetics;
  • Genetic technologies in breeding.

Main topics of the practical classes:

  • Analysis of high-throughput sequencing data;
  • Analysis of high-throughput genotyping data;
  • Introduction to agrobiotechnology;
  • Structural biology;
  • Construction and analysis of biological networks;
  • Regulatory and functional genomics.

  • Registration on the School website: until September 2, 2026.
  • Payment of the registration fee: until September 5, 2026.
  • Submission of abstracts for participation in the young scientists’ presentation session, oral or poster, and for publication in the abstract book: until September 5, 2026.
  • Submission of expert opinions for publication of abstracts in the Multi-School abstract book: until September 5, 2026.
  • Accommodation booking: until September 5, 2026.
  • Publication of the detailed School program: September 14, 2026.
  • Multi-School dates: September 28 – October 2, 2026.

School participation fee: RUB 6,000 (details).
