Dear Colleagues!

Diabetes mellitus – a serious challenge for the healthcare system in Russia and in most other countries of the world. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, people with diabetes have become one of the most vulnerable categories of patients. This requires scientists and doctors of various specialties to consolidate efforts for a deeper study of diabetes mellitus, the development and implementation of new technologies for its treatment and prevention into practice.

The pandemic has limited our direct communication in scientific forums. However, modern information technology allows us to meet remotely, at computer screens, to discuss the most pressing problems of our specialty.

One of such remote sites is the conference “Diabetes mellitus: from monitoring to management”, which will be held on May 26-27, 2021 in Novosibirsk. The conference will be attended by leading scientists of the National Medical Research Center for Endocrinology of the Ministry of Health of Russia, colleagues from Moscow, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg and other Russian cities, as well as foreign specialists.

I hope that the introduction of new technologies for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diabetes mellitus and its complications, which will be discussed at the conference, will further improve medical care and improve the quality of life of our patients!
