Seminar location

The seminar will be held at the Institute of Cytology and Genetics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in the Novosibirsk Akademgorodok (Academy town). Novosibirsk Akademgorodok is a worldwide known scientific center, which is unique in its high concentration of intellectual and cultural resources, disseminating its influence far beyond the capital of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Akademgorodok is actually unique in its location. The founders of Akademgorodok named this most picturesque place amidst a pine forest on the bank of the Ob Sea (Novosibirsk artificial lake) the Golden Valley. A true Siberian winter and hot summer provide outstanding conditions for combining intensive work and study with active rest in sports and tourist clubs. Akademgorodok also has Botanical garden, yacht club, museums, and entertainment centers. Akademgorodok is a part of Novosibirsk and is located 25 km from its center. The city has ten theaters, including the worldwide known Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, also known as “Siberian Bolshoi Theatre”. Novosibirsk Zoo is among the most known site of interest not only in this city, but also in all Siberia. This in the only zoo in the world located in a natural pine forest, the oldest and largest in both its area and the number of species from Ural to the Far East.
