The dominant suppressor SKr (chromosome 5BS) has the major effect on inhibiting crossability of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) with rye (Secale L.). The genotypes with recessive alleles of SKr are characterized by high crossability with rye, while the dominant alleles suppress it. In this study the efficiency of molecular markers which are closely linked to SKr is evaluated for the identification of recessive or dominant alleles in different bread wheat genotypes.
