First Sino-Russian Workshop on Integrative Bioinformatics and Systems Biology
(WIBSB-2018)

22-23/08/2018, Novosibirsk, Russia

First Sino-Russian workshop on integrative bioinformatics and computer systems biology in Novosibirsk will be hold for the first time in Novosibirsk at Novosibirsk State University in August 2018. The workshop in Novosibirsk will be organized in the frames of the multi-conference Bioinformatics of Genome Regulation and Structure\Systems Biology (BGRS\SB-2018).

This international meeting will support solving of fundamental science problems on “Life sciences” program, and Russian national platform “Future medicine”. The researches presented as the workshop correspond to the critical technologies: «Genome, proteome and post-genome technologies», «Cell technologies». Growing science interest to computer systems biology and integrative bioinformatics is related to the researches fulfilled at the institute of Novosibirsk Academgorodok and Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. International Virtual Russian-Chinese Network on Bioinformatics is functioning at Novosibirsk University and Zhejiang University (http://lcg.nsu.ru/ru/collaborations/, see also Links and Registration details pages). It is related with software exchange, development of joint educational programs for students, and complemented to participation in the Workshop of scientists from Asian countries who consider perspectives of collaboration with Russia in frames of future international science projects, as well as bilateral collaboration.

Computer system biology and Integrative Bioinformatics is a fast growing field of biology based on analysis of structural and functional organization of biological systems, applications in medicine and biotechnology. Integrative bioinformatics as a science field is oriented on joining and unification of databases and informational resources in biology, standardization of omics technology data. Organization of the workshop on integrative bioinformatics and computer systems biology will help summarize modern knowledge and allow the representatives from academic organization and commercial sector establish contacts and find variant of mutually benefit international collaboration with Russian science organizations, Siberian Branch of the Russian academy of Sciences and Novosibirsk State University, Tyumen University and Tomsk State University, develop educational programs.

The workshop include following topics:

  • Computer genomics and post-genome technologies;
  • Integrative bioinformatics and data analysis in systems biology;
  • Bioinformatics and educational programs in the university of Russia and China.

The Workshop will collects presentation of latest results in theses science fields. The program of the Workshop (https://conf.icgbio.ru/bgrssb2018/) will include invited and plenary talks, and the round table discussion.

By the results of the workshop full-text papers will be published in series of international journals on bioinformatics including «Journal of Integrative Bioinformatics» and «Journal of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology».

Working language of the Workshop is English.
