Highly conserved MADS-domain transcription factors play a decisive role during angiosperm flowering. Their combinatorial action is described by the ABCDE flower development model. E-class SEPALLATA (SEP) proteins determine flower organ identity and are the central hub of MADS-protein complexes. Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) SEP3 homolog, SlMADS5, is involved in determining petal, stamen, and carpel identity; data on this gene function are limited. In this study, SlMADS5 functional characteristic was performed.Nezhdanova_SlMADS5
